Spatial Alignment
Where an intelligent machine is shapes what it should be allowed to do, which makes location a governance lever for AI and autonomous systems.
Purpose
Machines increasingly act in physical space, and what they should be allowed to do depends on where they are. This essay makes the case that location is a governance lever for intelligent machines.
Approach
A published essay tracing the argument from everyday spatial norms to technical mechanisms -- if permitted behavior is conditioned on place, governance needs credible ways to establish place.
